  1. The progress of my project TahiraFida - 2011

  2. Topic • The Islamic dress between the religion, the modern changes, and five artists’ representations. • Fida(2010)4x1 A Female Interpretation Exhibition

  3. Background • The Islamic dress and veiling has captured the attention of people around the world. • Some Muslim ladies nowadays, do not understand the rationale behind this dress, and a lot of women who want to look modern avoid wearing it. • A number of artist have used the Islamic dress in their art to present a concept or debate an idea.

  4. My project • Conceptual photography. • Photographs present a concept related to Muslim ladies. • The photos are suppose to show Muslim lady/ladies wearing Islamic dress. • I have discussed the work of 5 artists in my paper and personally love ShirinNeshat’sphotos.

  6. Experiments • Selected some concepts and tried them. • For example, 1- the concept ‘suffer’

  7. Con. • 2- the concept ‘destiny’

  8. Con. • 3- ‘lost by the rhythm’

  9. Technology used. • My photos were taken by Canon camera EOS 500D 15.1 M.P. • Used Photoshop to adjust them. • However, not happy with the quality and results. • In my mind, what tutors have pointed out “quantity leads to quality”. • My aim is ‘Do many experiments and finalize the project.’

Now • Attending workshops in photography. • Getting help from a professional photographer. • Using CS5 for photos manipulation. • Taking many photos at different times and exposures. • Agreed with a model (a Muslim lady) to photograph her. • Looking at well-known photographers art work such as MishaGordinon the internet. • Blogging.
