  5. About the Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow(1807-1882) was one of the greatest American romanticism poet in 19th century. He was born in a lawyer's family. He was also a classmate of Nathaniel Hawthorne(1804-1864). After his graduation, Longfellow began to give language and literature lessons in Harvard University, which lasted 18 years. In the meantime, he gradually became one of the most influential figure among the literati.

  9. Understanding • The poet began his fantastic imagination with two simple things, arrow and song, and told us a sort of life experience cleverly. In his poem, he let go of these things, then he got no idea where they went. He never managed to catch up with his arrow and song cause they were too fast, or just because he didn’t care about them anymore. After a long time, when he almost forgot them, he happened to find them somewhere else. They were well-saved, as good as new.

  10. This poem reminds me of a song which says, when you forget it , still I remember it. Sometimes we say something, or we do something, and after a long time, when even it is forgot by ourselves, we would find out, surprisingly, that it is still remembered by our friends. Only a true friend can be like this. Ones who love others shall be loved by others. We get friends by giving, and we always get moved by friendship.
