BYC Soccer • Why Merge? • To create a regionally recognized, community centered, youth soccer club that addresses all levels of soccer from recreational to competitive travel. • To provide players in the greater Garnet Valley community with programs and coaching to be successful in the game of soccer while creating healthy, life long habits and promoting sportsmanship in all our players, coaches and teams. • Eliminate “competition” between 2 local clubs. • Develop and retain our youth players at all levels.

BYC Soccer • Director of Coaching (DOC): • Jim Wallace – GVHS Head Coach • UEFA ‘B’ License / SFA C-D-E License / USSF D-E-F-G License • NSCAA Level 1 & Level 3 Diplomas • HND in Sports Coaching & Development • Mission: Develop & Improve coaches to maximize potential at all ages. • Roles and Responsibilities: • Development of players and coaches • Develop a program for internal staff development -- both formally (licensing courses, seminars, etc.), and informally (regular feedback and observation, mentoring, etc.). • Staff Recruitment and Assignment • Develop and run Director’s Developmental Program (DDP)

BYC Soccer – Developmental • Youth Developmental Program: U4 – U8: • Youth Development Statement: • To create an environment where the young soccer player, ages 3-8 learns the fundamentals of soccer in a fun, skills based curriculum designed by our DOC and US Youth Soccer • Youth Development Objectives: • Increase players motor skills and social behavior • Build a foundation of teamwork and love of the game • Focused on skills development ‘one kid, one ball’ • Small sided games 3v3, 4v4 for maximum participation • Typically a one hour practice, 1x week; Games Saturday morning

BYC Soccer – Intramural • Intramural U9 – U15 • Intramural Mission Statement: • To provide a fun, yet competitive, environment for players of all levels • Intramural Objectives: • Support players at all levels who enjoy the game • Focus on Fun, Fitness and Skill Development • Develop team and life skills through participation in a team environment • Typically one practice week, games on weekends

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Directors’ Development Program (DDP) U9 – U10: • DDP Mission Statement: • The Directors’ Development Program (DDP) will provide a player‐centered developmental program that focuses on creating a nurturing, educational soccer environment while concentrating on "what’s best for the players“ • DDP Objectives: • Provide appropriate competition, travel and training to game ratio for every child • Reduce fear of failure, by eliminating the pressure of winning games with more emphasis on individual player development and focusing on appropriate competition rather than making the competition the sole focus • Training focuses on developing technically gifted, versatile, and creative players, plus the fundamentals that are essential to long term development. • Develop players that love to play the game, have a desire to improve and learn and are able to compete to the best of their ability as they get older. • DDP Age Group’s will not participate in the Delco or PAGS leagues & will not play State Cup competitions • DDP Program will be trained by staff coaches and supported with parent volunteers • Include up to 40 players by age group.

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Directors’ Development Program (DDP) U9 – U10: • DDP Format: • U9 and U10 Age groups • Participate in training 2 times per week • Participate in intra-squad games on the weekend • Play in DDP festivals against other DDP programs • Game formats will include but not limited to 8v8, 5v5, free‐play & ability based games • Winter indoor/futsal will be an option • Spring training and DPP festivals • Current DDP Clubs: • Continental FC - Delaware Union • Nether United - Rage Soccer Club • Spirit United - West Chester United Soccer Club • West-Mont United - Yardley Makefield Soccer

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Travel Program U11 – U18: • Travel Mission Statement: • To provide a robust team development centered program focused on technical and tactical aspects of the game. • Travel Objectives: • To increase technical ability • Improve players tactical awareness of the game. • To encourage creativity and love of the game • Provide the appropriate level of competitiveness where the player and team can thrive • Teams aligned in PAGS & DelCo based upon ability • Utilize paid staff coach, minimum one practice per week • Continue critical parent coach involvement

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Tryout Process – DDP & Travel • Conducted by Director of Coaching • Evaluators consist of: • Paid Staff Coaches • High School Coaches • UK Elite Staff • Key Focus Points • Technical (passing, shooting, dribbling) • Tactical awareness in 3v3, 5v5 & full sided games • Players will receive a score for each component • Scores averaged and formulated to provide rankings • Key Tryout Dates, Times & Parents Meetings: Between May 2 – June 6

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Travel Team Selection: DDP • 40 Players at each age level and gender • Based on rankings Travel Teams (new name structure) • Three Tiers • Consistent naming w/ year of birth (branding) • Elite (selected from top 22 ranked players) • Premier • Select • Teams will be created by DOC & Travel Directors • Coaches determined after team selection

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Logo, Colors & Uniform Selection: Logo & Colors • Representative of both organizations • Primary Royal Blue & White Uniform • Adidas Primary & Secondary Jersey • Adidas Shorts & Socks • DDP will utilize primary jersey, shorts, socks • Travel Teams will align with new uniforms • Warm – Ups, Bags optional • Coaches gear, polo & warm-up: TBD

FC Brandywine – DDP & Travel • Cost: DDP • $400 • Includes 2x week training & games • Paid Staff Coach • Registration to DDP Travel • All Levels: Elite, Premier, Select • $600 - $1400 • Depends on level of team, tournaments, training • Decisions on level of commitment made by DOC & Travel Directors based upon competitive level of team • Team expense estimate distributed at tryouts

FC Brandywine – Camps • Spring Break Camp Details: • Registration opening this week! • Monday, April 17 – Thurs 19th – 9 AM to 12 PM • 8 to 14 years; $110 Summer Team Camps Details: • Team Camps U9 – U14; 9 AM – 3 PM • Facilitated by DOC & Staff Coaches • July 7 – 11: Open Camp – All Ages/Abilities • July 14 – 18: U13 – U14 • July 21 – 25: U11 – U12 • July 28 – Aug 1: U9 – U10 • Suggested for all teams
