Today's Learning Objectives After today's class: • Students should gain cursory knowledge of the design process and have the initial experience of working in assigned teams. • Students should be able to design and build a mechanical machine that delivers up to 10 marbles from a tabletop to a receiving target.

  4. Lab Setup The picture below shows the table setup. You will have a K’nex set, and a cup with 10 marbles The above picture shows the testing table, the start line, and the bucket at the end of the table.

  5. Schedule of Events • Lab Intro + Questions: 5 min • Design and Construct : 35 min • RUN #1 : 10 min • Design Modifications: 10 min • RUN #2 : 10 min • CLEANUP/Wrap-up: 10 min When your team is called you have 1 minute to start the run.

  7. Today’s Assignment At the end of class: • Disassemble the vehicle, organize the kit and have a TA check it before leaving • Get Checkout Procedure signed by TA or Instructor

  8. Helpful Hints • Be aware of the time left in class • There will only be two opportunities to make runs. • The first run will conclude after 50 minutes • Your second run will be on a first-come first-served basis
