  2. So You Want a Pet Turtle? • Turtles are not that hard to find! • Try checking out The Turtle Source. • Petsmart has some turtles for sale as well. • Even Petcohas a few options.

  3. Turtles Need Proper Care! • Turtles need water and land in their habitats. • Turtles need very specific temperatures and humidity levels. Make sure to research what your specific type of turtle needs. • Watch your turtle carefully to make sure that they are not getting sick.

  4. What Should a Turtle Habitat Look Like? Controls temperature, humidity, water levels and many other important factors.

  5. What Do Turtles Eat? • Some turtles eat live ‘prey’ such as meal worms or earth worms. • Turtles really like fruits and vegetables! • beans,, leafy greens, carrots, peas and kale are some favorite veggies! • Strawberries , mangos, pumpkin, figs are grapes are some good fruit options! Well, it depends on what kind of turtle you have!

  6. How Can You Tell If Your Turtle is Sick? •Runny droppings for more than two days • Eating or drinking less; weight loss • Swollen joints • Discharge from the eyes, nose or mouth • Shedding problems; discolored skin • Avoidance of the lighted area; more time spent hiding

  7. That Sounds Like A Lot of Work! • Well it is. • But so are all pets, and the decision to get a pet shouldn’t be taken lightly! • You are caring for another living thing.

  8. Oh, Wow, So Why Would Anyone Want a Turtle? • Because turtles are awesome. • Turtles date back more then 200 million years! • They aren’t no work to take care of, but are certainly less work then a dog or a cat. • They are really cute.

  9. In Conclusion • Turtles are great! • BUT: • If you decide to get a pet turtle make sure you take care of it properly.
