Winter Weather Users Conference – 2009/2010

The Winter Weather Users Conference of 2009/2010, held in Columbia, SC, brought together Emergency Managers from South Carolina and Georgia, as well as representatives from various Departments of Transportation, school districts, and the CAE Airport. Participants explored winter weather forecasting, the challenges involved, and the importance of communicating uncertainty. The conference was inspired by the “Non-Event” of March 1, 2009, leading to discussions on climatology, forecasting processes, and the development of relevant forecast products and services to improve community preparedness.
