BELVEDERE CASTLE Did you know that temperature is recorded from atop Belvedere Castle? Before 1919, when it was equipped with meteorological equipment, Belvedere Castle was a Victorian Folly, a fantasy structure that provides a great backdrop and views, but without a real intended purpose. After decades of deterioration, the Central Park Conservancy renovated and reopened the castle in 1983. In Italian “Belvedere” means “beautiful view”; in fact from here you can see some of Central Park's most beautiful and famous landmarks: the Delacorte Theater, the Great Lawn, the Turtle Pond and the Ramble. CENTRAL PARK ZOO In the Central Park Zoo there are animalsfromtropical, temperate, and polar zones around the world. The favorite part for many visitors, is the sea lion pool in the center courtyard. It has new glasses at the sides, so that viewers can watch these mammals gliding and spiraling under water. During feeding time (11:30 am, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm) the four sea lions perform simple tricks for their meal. The ticket costs 10$, includingall the animals show. Back The sealion pool

TOP OF THE ROCK The observation deck atop the skyscraper, called "Top of the Rock", reopened to the public on November 1, 2005, after undergoing a $75 million renovation. It had been closed since 1986 to renovate the Rainbow Room. The deck, which is like the deck of an ocean boat, offers a bird sightseeing view of the city, competing with the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State Building. It is often considered the best panoramic city view because it offers a view of the Empire State Building, which cannot be seen from its own observation deck. The ticket costs 20-30$, it depends on what you want to do. The viewfrom the deck Back
