  1. High School 101 AR Procedures/1st Two Weeks Monday, August 18th, 3rd Period

  2. High School 101: Homeroom Procedures • We will do announcements over the intercom each morning at the beginning of 3rd Period. • The first announcement is “Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.” We will do the Pledge each morning. • The first two days of school we will have homeroom before 1st period. It will be a longer homeroom. We need to make sure that all students are in their proper location. • After the first two days of school, homeroom is scheduled after 2nd .

  3. High School 101: Homeroom Procedures • Homeroom teachers will take roll using the blue card. When a student enters homeroom for the first time, an “E” is placed next to the student’s name. • The blue homeroom cards are sent to the front office at the END of each homeroom for the first 10 days of school.

High School 101: Vocational Students • All morning vocational students will attend homeroom for the first 2 days of school. • Morning vocational students will remain in the small cafeteria after 7:15 (no wandering the building) • The morning vocational bus will pick the students up by 7:30 in front of the cafeteria. • The afternoon vocational bus arrives between 11:10 and 11:20. It will pick up students outside of the cafeteria. Be prepared to leave on time! • NO DRIVING TO VOC. SCHOOL!

  5. High School 101: Morning Procedures • In the morning, if you drive , you will use the cafeteria entrance to enter the school. You will not use the front entrance of the school unless you arrive after 7:35 AM. • All doors are locked by 7:35 AM each day. • If a parent drops you off each morning, use the 3rd entrance to the parking lot. Follow the road to the back of the school. Students will enter the school using the back entrance.

  6. High School 101: Student Drop-Off • Parents are not to drop off students or pick up students on the bus loop, the visitor’s parking lot, the student parking area, or in front of the cafeteria. • Parents will be asked to move their cars if they are in these locations. • The building opens at 6:10 AM. Parents are not to drop off students before 6:10 AM.

  7. High School 101: Parking • Students who purchased parking passes, please make sure that you are parking in the correct parking space. • There are parking spaces available. If you are interested in purchasing a space, you can purchase one in the front office. • To purchase a space, appropriate paperwork must be completed and signed by a parent. • A fee of $50.00 is required to be paid.

  8. High School 101: Parking • We will check the parking lot daily to make sure that all cars in the lot have a current parking tag. • If a car does not have a current parking tag, the car will be towed – NO WARNINGS! This presentation will be considered your warning! • If you park in the visitor’s lot, your car will be towed without a warning. This presentation will be considered your warning!

  9. High School 101: Lockers • All 9th graders have been issued a locker. • 10th – 12th graders were voluntarily issued a locker. • If you are not able to open your locker after many tries, go to the Student Information Center to sign the pad of paper for locker issues. Include your name and your locker number. • Do not jam materials in your locker – it will get stuck and won’t open. • Do not arrive late to a class because you were at your locker of having locker issues!

High School 101: Free/Reduced Lunch • All students should have received a Free/Reduced Lunch Form in their registration packet. • There are extra forms in the front office. • If you were on Free/Reduced Lunch last year, you will have it for the first 30 days of school. • A new form must be submitted by the end of the first 30 days. • All completed forms can be turned in to the front office or to Mrs. Radcliffe.

  11. High School 101: Handbooks • Each student will be given a district handbook in 3rd period on the first day of school. • Parents and students must sign the Parent Understanding form and return the signed form to their 3rd period teacher. The teacher will keep the forms on file for the entire school year. • Each student will be given an Ashley Ridge handbook in 3rd period on the first day of school.

High School 101: Student Information • Where is Student Information? • Student Information is located beside the front office. • Why do I need Student Information? • This is where you sign-in and sign-out of school. • This is where you purchase temporary IDs between 6:50am-7:15am. • This is where you bring excuses when you are returning from an absence. • This is where you bring a note IN THE MORNING to be verified when riding a different bus. • This is where you make phone calls home (with a pass from a teacher).
