  2. Mission Statement • The Mission of the Center Grove Wrestling Club is to provide each student-athlete the opportunity to excel in the sport of wrestling. The program will develop strong character and work ethic; build confidence, self-esteem, and a positive team morale. Academic excellence will be emphasized, as we will strive to nurture and grow young people of excellence.

  3. Practice Schedule • Change this year and from what was announced. • Advanced • Monday & Wednesday 6:15-8:00 • Beginner’s • Tuesday & Thursday 6:15-8:00 • We apologize for any confusion or issues, we are trying to meet the needs of the majority

  4. Season Overview • Session 1 (Elem. & Middle School): Oct. 28th -Dec. 19th • Club meet on Monday, Nov. 11th 7:00 PM • Focus on Beginners and Duals Team • Session 2 (Elem. Only): Jan. 6th -March 13th • Individual tournaments begin • Kids State finals March 8th & 9th • Session 3 (All Ages): March 17th-May 22nd • Freestyle & Greco-Roman (Olympic styles) • State Finals May 3rd & 4th

  5. Folkstyle Wrestling Program • Goals: • Provide a positive experience through the sport of wrestling • Promote the sport of wrestling and gain new fans of the sport • Develop skills that will help kids in all aspects of life • Build a love and passion for the sport of wrestling

  6. Duals Team • Participation on the duals team is optional • Open to grades K-6 • We want to attend 4-5 tournaments minimum • Last years teams wrestled 25 matches + exhibitions • Entry Fee (around $10.00 per event) • Covers entry fees of team • Guaranteed matches & wrestling experience • Team building

  7. Folkstyle Program • December 7th • Host Elementary Dual • December 14th • Host Elementary beginners event • March 1st • Club tournament *We need everyone helping at this event as it is our largest fundraiser.

  8. Folkstyle Program • Banquet to conclude each season • Everyone who completes program will be recognized

  9. Freestyle & Greco-Roman • Starts in mid March and runs through May • Olympic styles • We focus on the folkstyle season • We hope that many are interested and stay through freestyle & Greco-roman • We understand that your child may go on to other sports and that is ok

  10. Freestyle & Greco-Roman • We host tournament on April 26th • State Finals • Freestyle • Greco-Roman • USA Wrestling’s Central Regional • @ Franklin HS • We will have a separate banquet for freestyle/Greco-Roman

  11. Future Goals • Increased participation at all levels of club, especially focusing on middle school aged kids. • 154 members 2011-12 • members 2012-13 • 200 members 2013-14 • Increased participation in the ISWA state tournament series

  12. Club Recognition • Rewards are given at the end of the Freestyle/Greco-Roman students to those who participate in: • At least 2 of the state tournaments • All 3 of the state tournaments
