  1. Objectives (Charter) • Promote, coordinate, and facilitate the active exchange of Engineering Standards programs information between stakeholders. • Help members be more proactive, save money, and save time in the implementation of their site’s standards program. • Support Public Law (PL) 104-113, OBM Circular A-119, and DOE Order 1300.2 that requires DOE contractors to limit the use of internal standards and use non-government standards to the maximum extent possible. • Operate within the EFCOG Charter and the Guidelines for Working Groups of EFCOG. • Provide planning and actions necessary to ensure that the overall objectives of EFCOG are met.

  2. Short-term Goals (Charter) 1. Establish a monthly telecon through which topics of interest of the participating members are established, ranked, and then discussed. 2. Determine the need for additional officers and elect them. The desire to have a Vice Chair who will succeed the initial Chair will be stressed. 3. Determine specific long term goals based on member input. The objectives stated in the Charter will be the starting point. 4. Hold a physical meeting/workshop within the first year of formation and each year thereafter. 5. Publicize existence of group to site engineering groups and others potentially interested to let them know that ESWOG exists, the purpose, objectives, etc. and possibly develop a communication tool like an official ESWOG newsletter that can be passed on electronically to site engineers. 6. Make contact with those potentially doing similar work in the nuclear weapons arena. 7. Develop a simple estimating worksheet to capture the cost savings realized when using information provided by the stakeholders. The Chairman of ESWOG could summarize the cost savings for the DOE complex, as a minimum on a yearly basis and publish the results on the ESWOG WEB site. 8. Long Term goals are as stated in the Charter’s Objectives; these will be revisited annually at a minimum.

  3. FY02/03 Goals, Annual Report • Continue to hold periodic teleconferences. • Continue to pursue DOE-wide Online National Standards Initiative. • Promote CAD-CAE subgroup among members and monitor viability. • Address emerging standards issues as needed.
