Chief Legislator The president can sign and veto laws passed by Congress.
Chief of Party The president is the highest ranking member of his party in the country, so he works to help get other party members elected or re-elected.
Watchdog of the Economy The president is responsible for keeping an eye on the country’s job rate and help control inflation. He submits a budget each year to Congress.
