Alfred Hitchcock's Early Life • He was born on August 13th 1899 in Leytonstone, London England. • He was the youngest in his family. • Was named after his father's brother. • He was Catholic and attended Salesian College. • Also attended Jesuit Classic School and St Ignatius' College in Stamford Hill, London.

  3. Alfred Hitchcock's Early Career • Alfred started working at Henley's.(Cable Company) • Hitchcock started submitting short articles in the Henley Telegraph in 1919 • His first piece of work was "Gas" in 1919. • The. "History of Eating Peas" in 1920 was his first satirical disquisition.

Emerging Talent • Hitchcock started to become fascinated with photography and started working with the film production in London. • He then started working as a title card designer for the London Branch. • The London Branch later became Paramount Pictures. • He hired a publicist to help expanse his rising reputation.

  5. First Success • Alfred Hitchcock's first success was in his first thriller, The Lodger: A Story Of The London Fog. • His film was released on January 1927. • The Lodger was a big hit in the United Kingdom.

  6. Love Life • He married his assistant director Alma Reville on December 2nd 1926. • They got married at Brompton Oratory in South Kensington, London. • Had only one child named Patricia who was born on July 7, 1928.

  7. Hitchcock's Big Break • Hitchcock's released a talkie film in 1929 known as "Blackmail". • Blackmail was his tenth film. • This allowed him to become a 'top notch director.'
