Process to Date • Task Force discussions • Program Alignment and Talent Development Task Force • Employment Growth Task Force • Best and promising practices research • Stakeholder input • Program Alignment and Talent Development Task Force held input sessions in December 2013 • Employment Growth Task Force requested input from partner organizations via brief survey and interviews

  3. Common Themes • Change the culture within Indiana to value education and learning • Develop a client-centric system that aligns services and resources around individuals’ and businesses’ needs • Strengthen the connectivity among state agencies and partner organizations • Increase the capacity of the system to serve a larger volume of Hoosiers

  4. Common Themes • Provide seamless career pathways across K-12, postsecondary education, and workforce development • Ensure Hoosiers have foundational skills (literacy, soft skills) necessary for success • Increase students’ and adults’ awareness of career opportunities in Indiana • Develop career pathways for adults which remove barriers and encourage acceleration toward credentials

Common Themes • Utilize sector-based approach to engage businesses • Proactively target priority sectors for business attraction • Utilize sector partnerships to identify existing industry needs • Encourage entrepreneurship and innovation by leveraging Indiana’s colleges and universities as partners

  6. Looking Toward Action Implementation will require: • Dedication and consistent attention to the long-term goals • Clear expectations for strategies and resulting outcomes • Leveraging resources to support implementation
