  1. Science- Soil Much of the earth’s crust is covered in a layer of loose material called soil which takes thousands of years to form. Soil is a mixture of humus, water, and tiny grains of broken down rock. We identify soil by texture, particle size, and color. Soil allows plants and animals to grow and survive making it an extremely important natural resource that we must conserve. Science SKKP #1
