  4. History • Nitrogen was discovered by a Scottish physician named Daniel Rutherford • He discovered it in Scotland in the year 1772 • The word nitrogen comes from niter, Potassium Nitrate (kn03) • You can use Potassium Nitrate to make nitrogen

  5. Where in the world • Nitrogen is found in all plants • Earth’s atmosphere is 78% nitrogen • It is found in proteins which makes up enzymes and muscle tissue

  6. Physical and chemical make up • Nitrogen melts at -210 degrees Celsius • Nitrogen boils at -195degrees Celsius • Nitrogen's normal state of matter is gas • Nitrogen only reacts at high temps. • This element is not very inert
