  1. Warm Up: What do you plan to be better at this year? Grab a Weekly Report! Tuesday/Wednesday, January 7th/8th, 2014

  2. Objective: • I will reflect on my past performance in World History and determine what I need to do to improve. Language Objective: • I will write using complete sentences by including the question in my answer.

  3. Agenda • Weekly Report Change • Review Class Rules/Expectations • Reflect on Semester Grades and Attendance • Review District Writing Assessment (we get to do it again this semester!)

  4. Weekly Report Changes • Handouts – cross this out. Write in “Classwork” • One Question… - cross this out. Write in “Homework” • Draw a square in the bottom right corner of each square. Write “Due” above it. • In the box above Monday, write “Date”. • You must write the dates in each week. Due:

Class Rules • Cell phone use only with permission! • No warnings will be given. • Cell phones will go to Student Relations. • Ask me first if you need to use it. • Bathroom Privileges • It is a privilege that can be taken away. • Never during lectures, group discussion, videos, etc. • Sign out and in, take the pass.

  6. Class Expectations • Students will: • Contribute to class discussions • Complete homework the night it is given • Be respectful • Bring paper and pen/pencil to class everyday • Give your best effort (someday you might need me to give you a job reference; what do you want me to say about you?)

  7. Semester Grades • Complete the Reflection Sheet using the report I hand you. • Write using complete sentences • Example #1: - I am happy with my 1st semester grades because….. • Example #2: If my dream job called to check on my attendance for this semester, the school would say…..

  8. Review District Writing Assessment • Class grade – rubric attached to packet. • District grade – rubric on the back of the packet.
