  2. Bullying behaviour...-is intended to hurt someone either physically, emotionally or psychologically.

  3. Bullying behaviour... -may be random but is often aimed at certain groups because of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

  4. Bullying behaviour...-involves a power play: The person being bullied may be weaker physically or psychologically.

  5. Bullying behaviour... -is deliberate and repeated over time.

  6. What form does bullying take?

  7. BULLYING takes many forms:- physical assault- teasing/ name calling - making threats- stealing belongings- interfering with someone's locker/ school bag/ journal- excluding others

  8. What is cyberbullying?

  9. Cyberbullying is the act of bullying someone using technology such as a computer or a mobile phone.

  10. Why is cyberbullying so dangerous?

  11. Cyberbullying... is non-stop, 24/7/365.

  12. Cyberbullying... invades your home & your head.

  13. It seems as if the whole world is against you.

  14. Multiple replays make you relive the trauma over & over & over.

  15. Some examples of cyberbullying?

  16. Sending someone mean/nasty/hurtful texts or emails.

  17. -Sharing another person’s secrets/embarrasing information/images on line

  18. - Deliberately excluding someone from (an online group)/blocking them for no reason

  19. -Creating websites/online presence to make fun of someone such as a teacher/classmate.

  20. -Sending or posting rumours about someone to damage their reputation

  21. Why do people cyberbully?

  22. -Something sent as a joke can be deeply upsetting for recipient. Sender says they are only ‘messing’.

  23. Remember: Words can be powerful weapons that can leave a permanent wound.

  24. Lack of compassion for the recipient. People say things online that they wouldn’t say in person.

  25. Remember: If you wouldn’t say it in person, why say it online?

  26. Bullies hide behind anonymity/are faceless tormentors who think there will be no comeback.

  27. Remember: Right click/Wrong click – think before you click.
