Mechanical Engineering Intern • Design Engineer for Space Structures • Worked on Commercial Space Reflector Programs • Utilized Pro/Engineer CAD and PRO/Intralink • Created solutions to design problems by coming up with a design, modeling it in CAD, making a drawing, producing the part, and integrating it into the system • Followed Design Process with collaboration, presentations, and analysis • On a team with 3 Mechanical Engineers, 1 Systems Engineer, and 1 Project Engineer

How I Got My Internship • Got involved with AIAA and a design team my first year • Attended mentor/mentee program with AIAA and other showcase prep workshops • Maintain atleast a 3.5GPA • Talked to Harris at both Career Showcases with a custom-tailored resume for them with some background knowledge of the company • Applied online • Attended both Info Sessions • PERSISTENCE • Received a phone call for a phone interview about a month after the Spring Showcase and set up a time for a few days later • Once called, the interview was ~5-10 minutes with basic questions about coursework and projects I’ve worked on with some behavioral questions • Called a week later and paperwork was requested • Called a week after that and was told I was being offered the position
