Join us for the AIAA General Meeting on May 6, 2008. Our special guest speaker, Brant White, a chemical engineer at ORBITEC, will share valuable insights. We will discuss important elections for various officer positions, including President, Vice President, Treasurer, and more. Upcoming outreach programs, social events, and a Science Olympiad competition will be highlighted. President • Office Expectations • Manage aiaa@cae.wisc.edu email address • Fill out required university forms and delegate attendance at required meetings • Plan general meetings, including slides and occasional guest speakers • Communicate with regional AIAA • Communicate with Engineering Physics Department • Time requirement is non-trivial, but manageable (similar to 1-2 credit class/semester)
Vice President • Office Expectations • Assist president in any required tasks • Manage WiscList database for member list • Collect dues and maintain records • Attend officer’s meetings • Actively participate in outreach, volunteer, and other AIAA events
Treasurer • Office Expectations • Manage financial account at UWCU • Order food for general meetings • Attend officer’s meetings • Actively participate in outreach, volunteer, and other AIAA events
Secretary / Webmaster • Office Expectations • Record proceedings of meetings where there is otherwise no digital media • Update the AIAA website at least once per month (basic HTML knowledge helpful, but not required) • Attend officer’s meetings • Actively participate in outreach, volunteer, and other AIAA events
Polygon Representative • Office Expectations • Attend mandatory biweekly Polygon student council meetings • Relay information back to AIAA • Vote on issues brought before student council • Attend officer’s meetings • Actively participate in outreach, volunteer, and other AIAA events
Trip Coordinator • Office Expectations • Plan spring trip, including locale, tours, airfare, hotels, rental cars, and other logistics • Open to spring-only students (January – March) • Attend officer’s meetings • Actively participate in outreach, volunteer, and other AIAA events
Election Procedure • Nominations open for offices, starting in order presented (second required for nominees) • Each AIAA member in presence will receive one paper ballot to select nominee unless unanimous (voice vote) • Simple majority required for election for all offices • Turnover meeting TBA
