Situation analysis in Russia. • CC- 2nd in women’s cancer deaths. • The average age is 45.6 years. • 70% are diagnosed at an incurable stage. • The screening program is not effective. • HPV-Vaccination is not included into NCI. • The low educational level of women, health providers and physicians. • Some Russian societies and institutions work in area of education. The main problem - no consolidation between all groups DACC 2010

  3. Team: representatives of different specialities involved in HPV who is being currently consolidated into ROGIN. The program of actions • a new Society ROGIN • will become a focal point for the efforts of all specialists engaged in practical, scientific, teaching activities in area of HPV and CC. • will bring together ob\gyns, pathologists, dermatovenereologists, urologists, biologists, oncologists, basic scientists, etc. DACC 2010

  5. actions To support and coordinate consensus meetings of experts for improvement screening programs, vaccination, diagnostics, treatment. • information for healthcare profs and general public to raise knowledge about STI and cancer, screening and HPV vaccine. Training of doctors to communicate with the patients with HPV and to interview in the media To participate in scientific work to enhance good medical practice Cervical Dysplasia (pre-cancer) organizing educational seminars, trainings, congresses, workshops for all specialities DACC DACC 2010

  6. actions To stimulate women for Pap- test, HPV vaccine through development and dissemination of educational brochures in public places, video broadcasts on TV, over the Internet, in ambulance, pharmacy, private medical centers, universities, etc. To establish collaboration with NGOs to involve them in problem area. public organizations (youth parties, student's movements, etc) Arrange the educational articles in popular editions of mass-media. To apply to Parlament To develop series of books in public-popular literature in a collaboration with biggest Russian medical publisher GEOTAR-media DACC DACC 2010

  7. Project implementation: ongoing activities • Participation in various Russian congresses with lectures, symposiums, exhibitions. • Training courses in HPV management area were organized in Moscow and other regions of Russia. • Close work with HPVToday, translated and distributed in Russia informational bulletins. • The radio and TV broadcasts, with invitation of popular Russian writers. • Surveys of doctors have shown substantial increase of knowledge level and positive attitude to vaccination. • The interviews in well-known magazines, newspapers etc. • Research: some serious ongoing HPV studies • Series of books about CC prevention are being prepared.
