  1. If you visit Bangkok or Thailand then there is one show you must not miss for anything in the world. It is the Siam Niramit Show, inarguably the grandest spectacle you will get to see. The show condenses centuries of Siamese history into a gala 90-minute breathtaking performance. The Ratchada Theatre has an 11.95 meters high platform that occupies almost half of the theatre and the drama unfolds in three acts that will keep you spellbound to your seats. Before the show It is best to arrive at the venue a couple of hours before the start of the show. You can take a tour of the Thai village and actually have an immersive experience of rural craft and lifestyles as they existed centuries ago. Sample coconut pudding or engage in making fish mobiles from dried grass or try your hand at making an omelet. You can watch dance performances or go on an elephant feeding spree. Get a Thai traditional massage or buy something from the souvenir shop. Hear traditional musical instruments, watch batik painting and a puppet show or spend time in an actual rice paddy field. It all builds up excitement for the show. You can enjoy buffet-style Thai and international dishes before, during and after the show with choicest liquors, However, the dining area closes at 19.45 hours so it is better to dine early.

You travel back in time to the ancient kingdom of Lanna where the King and Queen lead people to worship. Then the show focuses on the South Seas showing traders from abroad arriving here and how various cultures coexist peacefully as the Chinese traders engage in barter. Then you are taken to Khmer civilization showing villagers celebrating a religious festival. The first act ends with the Central plains where you see peasants cultivating rice while the royals live a grand life in their palace. If Act I is about various regions of Siam then Act II is a journey through three worlds, taking you to fiery hell showing how sinners are punished. This is followed by the Mystical Himapaan forest between earth and heaven with gods and creatures on display. Then you travel to Heaven where Indra, the god of gods presides and angels perform an enthralling aerial dance. Act III is about festivals. From the moment the lights dim and the drum roll sounds to the end, it is a joyful experience that entertains and also educates. There are bewitching dances, almost realistic rainfall, thunder and lightning and songs as well as boxing matches. Getting There The Siam Niamit complex is on Tiamruammit Road opposite the Thailand Cultural Centre. You can get into a free shuttle bus that operates from 17.15 hours, every 15 minutes.
