AdviseUP Mark II Project Update: Progress, Challenges, and Next Steps

The AdviseUP Mark II team, led by Kekai Ariola, has made significant strides in its project. Accomplishments include the completion of materialized views and successful integration of live data into our database, with ongoing communication with industry advisor Brian Toole. However, challenges remain, particularly with LDAP to CAS integration, necessitating reconfiguration of existing code. We are adapting to a new method for course ID management, requiring updates across multiple tables. Continued collaboration with faculty and industry advisors remains crucial for overcoming these hurdles.

  2. Project Overview

  3. Scorecard

  4. Accomplishments • Materialized Views are complete • Our database is pulling live data • Been in constant contact with Brian Toole • Heavily discussed access and editing policies for the many components. • Created and modified website pages for these policies

  5. Upcoming Milestones

  6. Evidence

  7. Issues and Concerns • LDAP to CAS has brought up more problems • Existing code will have to be reconfigured to incorporate live data. • The old database used auto-incrementing intas the primary key for course. Now we will be using the concatenation of department and course number. We will have to modify every table that contains course ID.
