  2. About the Federal ministry of environment and tourism • Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism performs administrative, professional and other activities within the jurisdiction of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina relating to: environmental protection of air, water and soil, making strategies and environmental policies, strategies and development of solid waste management, execution of projects, quality standards of air, water and soil, environmental monitoring and air, water and soil control, making of strategy and policy of tourism and hospitality development, monitoring tourist flows on domestic and foreign markets, targeting long-term development of tourism within the overall economic system and other tasks and is directly accountable to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  3. Activities • As part of its legal and normative jurisdiction,the Ministry prepares and proposes laws and by-laws and other acts in its draft form in the interests of the Federation, to the Government of the Federation, which are under the jurisdiction of the Federal ministry of environment and tourism.

  4. Sectors The programme of the Federal ministry of environment and tourism is realised through the following sectors: • The environmental sector • Sector for environmental permits • Tourism and Hospitality sector • Sector for Projects Implementation • Sector for Legal, Financial and General Affairs

The environmental sector • Performs activities of preparing and coordinating long-term strategic documents of its policy in the field of environment, nature and other environmental components (air, water, soil, waste) • Participation in the preparation and implementation of the National Environmental Action Plan, programs and measures for the protection of protected parts of animate and inanimate nature

The environmental sector • Preparing technical basis for the development of legislation, regulations and other acts in the field of protection of environment and nature, development and measures for conservation of the environment, natural communities (biocenosis), the rational use of natural resources and energy in accordance with the principles of sustainable development without serious disruption of the ecological balance , care of the permanent preservation of origin of biological diversity (diversity) and natural biocenosis and preservation of ecological balance (stability), preserving the quality of animate and inanimate nature, tracking international instruments (conventions, protocols, agreements, etc.).

Tourism and hospitality sector • Thanks to its natural beauty, ecological and climatic diversity, rich cultural and historical heritage and proximity to major international markets, the Federation has considerable tourism potential, which in the context of the rapid growth of global tourism is a real potential for development. • The development of tourism is of great importance both for the overall economy, and to encourage sustainable development in the developing and less developed areas in the Federation of BiH.

Tourism and Hospitality sector • The aim is a better establishment of the Federation as a distinctive touristic destination that is differentiated in the market by offering tradition, diversity and richness of diversity. • Construction and development of tourism infrastructure, • Development of a institutional support and encouragement system, • Education and training of personnel and development of public awareness of sustainable development and tourism, • Creating new and competitive touristic products, • Promotion of the Federation of BiH as a tourist destination

Important activities in tourism • Supporting the development of the mountain and ski tourism (Bjelasnica, Vlasic, KupresBlidinje Rostov) • Investing in the development of the Olympic centerBjelasnicaIgman • The development of spa tourism (ReumalFojnicaAquaterm Lead spas, TermeCentar, spas cities) • To boost the expansion of accommodation facilities and infrastructure construction, category 4 and 5 • Training of tourist guides and other tourism and hospitality workers

  10. Investment possibilities • Many accommodations in touristic areas of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina require investments and reconstructions in order to develop certain types of tourism in a better way. • We Especially recommend mountain tourism, health tourism, eco-tourism, adventure and sports for individuals who need appropriate accommodation.

  11. Suggestions for possible investments • Mountain tourism - accommodation in the spatial plan of Bjelasnica and Igman • Spa tourism –Reumal Fojnica, Olovo -reconstruction and renovation of facilities and construction of additional infrastructure • Eco-tourism and health tourism - accommodation and infrastructure construction, Vlasic, Blidinje Rostov, Kupres • Other types of tourism that are recommended for the Tourism Development Strategy of the Federation of BiH 2008- 2018. • National park Una, and natural parks of Federation BiH, as well as other activities in accordance with the environmental protection strategy.
