  2. Novell Login • Every user has a username and a password. • In FSUSD, you have to log in using your Novell username and password (min. 8 characters). • Your login authenticates you. It provides security. • Only you have access to your district resources: • Documents • Mail • Calendar • Contacts • Software programs • File storage • Resources on Gracie

Gmail Login • FSUSD uses Google’s Gmail for email • Your GroupWise email, calendar and contacts (address book) have all been migrated to Gmail. • Your address is username@fsusd.org • Novell username is also your Gmail username • However, your passwords may or may not be the same. You will have to synchronize them. • To get your email easily from anywhere • Login to http://mail.fsusd.org

Synchronizing passwords • Synchronizing passwords is part of tech survival. • When in district, you are required to login with your Novell username and password • We have developed a utility for you to sync your passwords between Novell and Gmail. • https://password.fsusd.org(The “s” in https:// indicates “secure”) • Enter your current Novell username and password • Enter your new password • Re-enter your new password • See the next slides for visuals…

  7. Sync passwords: Done! • You get a geeky message confirming the change. • Both of your passwords have been reset! • Novell and Gmail logins are now identical • Login to Gmail: http://mail.fsusd.org

  8. Sites for Help • Switch application to: Google Sites

  9. Click on Sites for Help Once you are logged into your Google Apps account, simply switch from Mail to Sites.

Smart phones • Login to your Google Apps account if not yet open: • http://mail.fsusd.org (mail), or • http://sites.fsusd.org (sites) • Smart phones (mobile) • If you have a smart phone, you can also get your Gmail delivered to your phone. • Google has instructions for various smart phones. • Go to Sites (help). • On left side, click on Learn More > Mobile Users • See the next slide
