  2. Background • Coalition gov’t spending restrictions on marketing and media remain in place for duration of this Parliament. • Scope is broad • events, awards, media campaigns • HSE has governance systems in place to ensure compliance with gov’t guidance

  3. Audiences • Large, Organised, Competent • should aim to be self sufficient • utilise existing routes • lighter touch • Smaller, limited organisation, less competent • highest priority • simple guidance • looking for new routes

  4. Publications • Mainly aimed at SMEs • Focus on web based material • Reduced portfolio of priced publications • Work with industry organisations on publications where necessary – e.g. MEWPs

  5. Working Well Together • 15 Regional Groups • 74 events this year • SHADs, DADs, White Van, Mock Trials • 7000+ attendees • 48% from SMEs (employing 15 or fewer) • NEXT YEAR – • 50 events planned • funding for website needed

  6. Printed & Online Media • Continue to provide press releases to cover significant events, • e.g. refurbishment initiative • Place articles in industry and trade press • Infonet • Online Forum

  7. Stakeholder relations • Continue to support events where they clearly support the HSE strategy • Work on specific projects where they support the strategy and there are; • clear objectives, leading to • defined outputs and outcomes
