  1. What is dodge and burn • It is used to make Highlights and Shadows • When Do I use Dodge and Burn? • When making a shadow or a highlight on a certain aspect on a picture it becomes easier by using the tool and not actual colors to create the effect

What do the options do? • Fade out: The stroke you create slowly fades out depending on how many pixels you choose for you effect • Apply jitter: Your line will not look as smooth as if you can see pixels • Hard edge: creates a sharper looking stroke • Range: • Shadows: only effects the darker pixels of a photo • Midtones: effects mid range of color • Highlights: effects the lightest areas of a photo • Exposure: changes the intensity of the Tool on the photo

  3. How do I use this • After creating you picture: • Select the burn/dodge tool • Decide if you want to have a Highlight or a Shadow and pick accordingly for your photo • Choose between: Shadows, Midtones, and highlights for your effect
