  7. 5 kV - High Voltages Fuses Due to existing over-voltages in the 3 kV d.c. range of the bus bars, many European railways starting requesting high voltage components reliable up to 5 kV d.c.. Up to now standard fuses are suitable to safely switch off 4.3 kV d.c. max. For high voltage equipment protection Schaltbau therefore adopted in their product range safety fuses for 5 kV rated voltage which can reliably manage to release even at the max. admissible operating voltage to UIC 550. For easy replacement of fuses a suitable fuse support was designed, particularly for use on a mounting plate.
