  2. Aesthetic Stations • In 5 groups, please take 10 minutes per station to discuss specific instances where you notice particular aesthetic effects. • Please make sure the best of your conversations and examples find their way into your notes.

  3. Aesthetic Stations 10 minutes for each station • Narrative Point of View: identify five instances where the manner of telling the story is impacting your understanding of the story • Imagery: identify five specific instances of description that you found memorable • Plot: identify five instances where an event seems to have a specific impact on the story • Irony: identify five instances where you detect dramatic irony • Dialogue: focusing upon one character, identify five distinctive instances of their speech

  4. Follow Up… What are the cumulative effects of these particular instances on: • Narrative P.O.V. to Tone • Imagery to Motif • Plot to Theme • Irony to Theme • Dialogue to Characterization

  5. Free Write • In whatever writing capacity you choose (academic, introspective, creative) find a mental thread that you noticed during your discussions today and pull. See where it leads you. Remember, try not to overthink, just keep those pens moving. • 5 minutes
