  2. Objectives • You will be able to identify and label the stages of the water cycle • You will be able to write a short summary of the water cycle • You will be able to draw a picture of the water cycle

  3. The Water Cycle • The water cycle is the way the earth uses and recycles water. It is controlled by the sun. • The water cycle consists of 4 main parts:- Evaporation- Condensation- Precipitation- Collection

  5. Evaporation • Evaporation is when the sun heats up water and turns it into a gas, vapor, or steam and goes into the air.

  6. Condensation • Condensation is when the water vapor in the air gets cold and turns back into liquid, which makes clouds.

  7. Precipitation • Precipitation happens when the clouds have so much liquid in them that they can’t hold it any more. • Precipitation comes in many forms like; rain, hail, sleet, or snow.

  8. Collection • When water falls back to the earth it collects in various places like, lakes, rivers, ponds, and oceans.
