  2. Information about our groups. The centre works in partnership with local Pre Schools, Nurseries, Childminder’s and Schools. The staff use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) to plan activities for the groups and services that we provide. The EYFS Framework exists to support all professionals working with children from birth to 5 years and was developed with a number of early years experts and parents. Centre groups focus on the 3 prime areas of your child’s development; Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development . Activities are provided to support the specific areas of learning; Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world and Expressive arts and design. Stories Come Alive All ages: Enjoy fun activities and experiences that will support your child’s language and literacy development. Story telling and books are an essential part of your child’s learning and development. This session offers ideas on how to support your child to become an early story teller and reader. Activities include bubble blowing, art activities and puppet shows. Designand make large and small scale models with your child. Prime area of EYFS – Communication and Language. Stay and Play, Sensory & Messy Play All ages; Explore a range of sensory activities with your child. Explore, design and make with your child. Activities include; Hand painting, cornflour, water, rice play and music and movement.Prime area of EYFS – Physical & Personal Social and Emotional development. Sensory Room sessions available during group. Pinner Wood Playscheme 4 – 12 years 11 months For more information please contact Pinner Wood 020 8736 6360 Fun affordable Holiday activities for children. Including; Arts & Crafts, Cooking, sports and games and trips to the local park. Priority to children with working parents. Cooking Stay & Play – Healthy Living 12 months – 7years (Siblings welcome) – Healthy cooking activities that support your child to make positive choices about food. A chance to taste new things, to practice cooking skills such as whisking, chopping and kneading and to introduce new language. The session also offers helpful hints about getting your child involved in food preparation, cooking and meal times at home.

Your comments and feedback help to shape future services and assist us to improve! Parent forums are your opportunity to share this and to talk to each other about your experiences. It is also a time to celebrate what you and your children love about the centres! It is also your opportunity to meet members of the centres Advisory Board. We hope you can come along. Light refreshments available. Foodbank Today in Harrow there are families struggling to put food on the table. For people on low income, a sudden crisis – redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill – can mean going hungry. Harrow Children’s Centres & the Foodbank provide emergency food vouchers and parcels and support to local people in crisis. Contact the centres if you need a voucher or an emergency parcel. Two Year Progress Checks. (By appointment only) Children aged 2years that are not attending a childminders, Pre School or nursery; Your child’s development and health check. Ask at reception for more information and to book an appointment.
