  2. What is Curriculum Calibration? • It is the collection and analysis of student work to measure the alignment of assignments to grade level standards

  5. The Process of Curriculum Calibration • Teachers received folder • Collected samples for 3 students/1 week • Work was sent to DataWorks • DataWorks analyzed 2064 student samples • Reports were created • Findings were presented to the faculty

  6. Improvement Steps • Training on California Standards • Review textbooks and supplementary materials to verify they are on grade level and match the standards tested. • Identify misaligned textbook chapters that don’t need to be taught and can be skipped. • Obtain and create materials for standards not addressed or not well covered in existing materials

  7. Improvement Steps • Have a ceremonial bonfire to rid the classrooms of inappropriate worksheets. • Meet in grade levels to develop calibrated, grade level worksheets. • Create pacing calendars to ensure coverage of all standards before test date.
