Angelo Fausto Coppi (Castellania 15 September 1919) was one of the most famous Italian cyclists.
In his glorious life, he won a lot of cycling races. The most important are the 5 Italian tours and the 2 French tours.
Besides his many victories, he is remembered for his generous and friendly gesture towards his most famous rival, Gino Bartali. During a race he passed a bottle of water to Bartali and helped him because he was thirsty and tired out.
At the end of the II World War he travelled to Burkina Faso with his friends. In Africa he got malaria.
