6. Multiple Programs to Donate - • Eye Care – Cataract removal Surgery camps – LKS conducts free surgery camps for cataract patients after due screening and investigated process. The program is administered by a team of experienced ophthalmologists and trained support staff. A fully-equipped 40-bed hospital with an Operation Theatre hosts patients operated in a day-long camps twice a week. Cataract surgeries are performed free of charge. Refractive Corrections – All LKS centres provide eye OPD clinics, where in-bound patients are screened and investigated for various eye related problems and illnesses like Cataract, Glaucoma, Diabetes-related eye problems. However, a majority of them are cases of refractive errors refractive errors needing spectacles and evaluation of visual impairment. Facilities - The hospital facility includes one Operation theatre, one 40 bed ward and all the necessary diagnostic and surgical tools and machinery like: Microscopes, slit lamp, Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope (LIO), YAG Laser, Retinoscopes and refraction boxes, Auto Ref. Keratometer, Pulse Oximeter and BPL BI- Phasic Defibrillator with printer.

7. Super Specialty Clinics – Medical Retina – Diabetes is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness. There are more than 41 million diabetics in India. Uncontrolled Diabetes and blood pressure can lead to a variety of retinal diseases. Diabetic retinopathy, branch and central retinal venous occlusion can cause blindness if not treated in time. Diabetes & Thyroid Care Centre Keeping in view the severity of the problems of diabetes and thyroid, a well-equipped facility is available for specialist consultation, experienced physician and a regular dietician for nutritional issues. On February 12, 2011 the Minister of Food & Civil Supplies, Shri Haji Haroon Yusuf inaugurated this programme/service.

8. General Medical Services Providing medical care to the poor and needy has been historically the mainstay of LKS. From a ‘mobile bicycle dispensary’ to a full-fledged OPD hospital for the poor, which provides multi-disciplinary services in the area of General Physician consultation, Gynecology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Dental Care, Skin and Pediatrics. In addition, a Homeopathy clinic provides an alternative system of medicine which is becoming popular. Physiotherapy Services Refurbished facility has the latest range of equipment and trained personnel to offer Physiotherapy services to patients on all working days. The range of equipment available at the centre includes SWD (Short Wave Diathermy), Ultra Sonic-Digital Mode, TENS, IFT, Traction Machine CTable-Digital Mode with microwave diathermy, muscle stimulator, wax bath, CPM machine, Laser (bio-med), Compressor therapy instruments etc.

Sponsor A Child Under this scheme, a donor sponsors a child at the center, who in turns gets remedial education, regular healthcare, supplementary nutrition and opportunity to be part of a host of personality and talent polishing opportunities and educational trips. All these years, the idea has really grown big and is having an impact on the people. The efforts of LKS teams have transformed the neighborhood. Hundreds of lives transformed into good and productive citizens, earners and achievers. Many more success stories are in making and hopefully this work shall continue in future as well. Impressed by the change, this programme has made at grassroots and inspired many others, the Government of India’s Ministry of Women & Child Development recognized it with the National Award for Child Welfare for the year 2009. It was presented to LKS General Secretary on 14th November’2010 by the President of India, in recognition of valuable services rendered to the Community in the field of child welfare.
