History • Ping Pong originated in England. • It was first played as a parlor game after dinner on the table. • Also known as table tennis, it requires 2 – 4 players who hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table with paddles. • Ping pong became an Olympic sport in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea.

  3. Health benefits of Ping Pong • Although there are little physical benefits on your body, it does require a good eye to react quickly to the oncoming ball. • Ping pong also helps your problem solving abilities. If you are learning how to score effectively, you have to strategically place ball in a position the opponent cannot play back.

  4. Social Benefits • Ping Pong can be a fun and exciting activity to play with friends or relatives. There are various types of ping pong that you can enjoy with others ranging from singles, doubles, around the world, and so on. • Ping pong can be very competitive as well, with two good players there can be an intense volley before someone scores. This encourages competition with others and can be healthy to relieve stress.

  5. Places to go to enjoy Ping Pong • Ping pong is easily accessible, you can play it at your house, or at a party, or with your friends. It requires little equipment besides a paddle and a table. In fact, the first ping pong game was played on a kitchen table!

  6. Cost of Ping Pong • Ping Pong can be fairly inexpensive, all you really need is a surface to play on, ranging from a professional Ping Pong table to a kitchen table, a paddle, and the ball.

  7. Factors that promote enjoyment • Ping Pong can be a very good stress reliever after a long day. It can be fun to grab a friend and have a little competition with someone.
