  3. Personnel Application Changes • Four new Service Term Post Categories have been introduced • Caretakers (CT) • Cleaners (CL) • Midday Supervisors (MS) • Nursery Nurse (NN) • These are NOT relevant to SWC

School Workforce Census 2013 - Specification • Changes to DfE Specification: • Dates moved on by one year • PRUs included for the first time and with different date spans (start date 1st April 2013) for this year’s Census only • Class of First Degree to be collected • Computer Science added to the list of DfE Subjects for timetable hours • However, the DfE has also told us that it is acceptable for a school to include an amount for Basic Pay that is not in line with what can be calculated from other information the school has included, e.g. scale

  5. School Workforce Census 2013 - Dates 01/04/2013 for PRUs • Dates • Dates moved on by one year • PRUs included for the first time and with different date spans (start date 1st April 2013) for this year’s Census only

  6. School Workforce Census 2013 - Qualifications • Class of First Degree • Class of Degree is only collected for a First Degree

  7. School Workforce Census 2013 - Curriculum • Computer Science • Computer Science is now available as a DfE Subject for linking to a SIMS Subject for use in collecting Curriculum information

  8. School Workforce Census 2013 - Base Pay • Dealing with Pay Issues: • A Pay Details panel has been added to the SWC application • This new panel will only appear if “Allow editing of Base Pay” has been ticked in School Workforce Census Settings - the default is unticked

School Workforce Census 2013 - Base Pay • Dealing with Pay Issues: • Where the Pay Details panel appears, Base Pay will default to the amounts calculated from the other pay details, or to 0 if those details are not available. • The school will then be able to change the Base Pay amounts to reflect what they are actually paying.

School Workforce Census 2013 - Academies • Academies formed in the collection period: • In last year’s Census we used the date the establishment changed its name to determine when the academy was formed, but this forced academies to type in a date for a name change even where the name had not actually changed. • In this year’s Census we will be using the date the establishment’s URN changed, which is something that changes for all academies.

Summer Release 2013 - School Workforce Census 2013 • Academies formed in the collection period: • Contracts that finished before the academy opened are not included - message displayed for open contract that cross the opening date • Absence records that finished before the academy opened are not included - message displayed for open absence records that cross the opening date
