The June 2012 update from the Special Education Action Team highlights the revisions made to the CAPSS process. Electronic copies of the new forms will be available online, and pilot testing has started. Key accomplishments include the development of “At-A-Glance” info sheets for common disabilities and a resource bank containing strategies and activities for general education. The timeline includes a phased rollout from September to June, incorporating I-Ready data to monitor student progress and tailor interventions. Upcoming training sessions for staff are also scheduled.

INTEGRATING CAPSS • CAPSS is a process for identifying the need for intervention and monitoring student progress on selected interventions at one or more tiers on the RTI pyramid. • I-Ready results and other data will be used to determine which students should be monitored through the CAPSS process.
