New LifeCommunity Center South DeKalb’s Full-Service Community Center • NLCC Mission • New Life Community Center exists to empower, uplift and impact the community in every walk of life by providing community enrichment and outreach programs, youth and adult education initiatives, and performing arts programs to residents who live within a 10-mile radius of the community center.

  2. New LifeCommunity Center • Facility Upgrades 2003 • $450,000 (approx.) • Alarm System • Sound & AV System • Signage • Landscaping • Painting & Fencing • Additional Parking • HVAC System • Soil Testing • County Code Upgrades

New LifeCommunity Center • Current Programs • Before and After School • Summer Camp • Junior Achievement • Math Tutoring • Children’s Dance & Drama • Chess Classes For Children • Martial Arts • Construction Trade & Skills • Adult Business Development • Computer Training • Wellness Program • Performing & Creative Arts • Parenting Classes • Family Night Activities • Senior Quilting Class

  4. New LifeCommunity Center • Future Programs • Adult Literacy Program • Continuing Education Courses • Youth Mentoring Program • GED Classes • Group Home/Youth Re-Entry Program • Drug Abuse Support Groups

  5. New LifeCommunity Center • Additional Activities • Job Fair for residents • Facility Rental by residents for weddings, birthday parties and family reunions and business meetings • Community Impact Day of family activities, games and humanitarian services for the homeless

New LifeCommunity Center • Impact/Results • Current programs and activities service over 200 clients and residents weekly. • Summer Camp impacts 200 community children and their families. • Community Impact Week in July 2003 reached 6,000 or more residents. • Current collaboration through our Advisory Council Board participants impacts 20 or more businesses and organizations in South DeKalb/Metro Atlanta and includes: • CNN, Wachovia Bank, Spelman College, Sprint, Wells Fargo, BellSouth, Turner Broadcasting, EF Braithwaite Architects, DeKalb Sheriff’s Office, GA Dept. of Labor, GA Perimeter College and several small business owners.
