We enhance the ability of actuaries to be trusted financial and business advisors on problems involving uncertain future events. Education • Complete Actuarial Curriculum: International Expansion and the GI Track An emerging global workforce & globallyinterconnectedrisk require accessible & relevant credentials NEARLY 4,500 MEMBERS & 5,000 CANDIDATES IN CANADA 2,761 MEMBERS & 6,060CANDIDATES IN ASIA EXAMS DELIVERED IN 97 COUNTRIES Actuaries need the skills & education to address the full spectrum of risk on a global scale 7

Education • We are committed to ongoing development of education and training as industries evolve. • Throughout its history, the SOA has created new specialty tracks to meet the demand for new and specific skills. • Complete Actuarial Curriculum: Specialty Tracks 1949: 3 TRACKS 2016: 6 TRACKS 8

Research • Actuaries are involved in the most pressing issues facing society. • We develop data-driven research that helps actuaries • be valuable advisors. • Our research, analysis and unique actuarial insight arevalued by policymakers and influencers. • We do not advocate for, or against, legislation. 9
