  2. What is an AP Honor District? Increased participation/access to AP by at least 4 percent in large districts, at least 6 percent in medium districts, and at least 11 percent in small districts; Increased or maintained the percentage of exams taken by African American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native students, and; Improved performance levels when comparing the percentage of students in 2013 scoring a 3 or higher to those in 2011, unless the district has already attained a performance level at which more than 70 percent of its AP students are scoring a 3 or higher.

Taking an AP course and exam is a collaborative effort between you the student, your parent/guardian, and the school. Each party plays a role and must make the commitment to meet the expectations as noted below.

  16. AP Contract The student is responsible for collecting the required signatures and returning the agreement to the AP Coordinator. The student will not be officially registered for the AP class until this form is returned. We build our master schedule around the number of requests for each class. There will be NO drops for AP classes. Please understand the commitment.

  17. AP Contract • The student agrees to organize his/her time and effort to successfully complete the AP course in which he/she is enrolled. The student will notify teachers immediately if he/she falls behind in class. The student will be expected to complete assignments, readings and all assigned projects. The student will take the AP Exam on its scheduled date and time as outlined by the College Board. • The school will provide rigorous instruction and challenging course work for the student. The material on the AP exam will be covered throughout the AP course. The school will administer the AP exams in a fair and secure environment as outlined in the AP Coordinator’s Manual. • I agree to the conditions outlined above and understand that there will be a fee for the AP exam. The fee for the 2013-14 school year was $89.00. If there is a reason that you can not meet the financial requirements, please contact the AP Coordinator immediately. New for 2014-15 there will be a $15.00 non-refundable deposit for AP tests the first 15 days of the class.
