  4. You only get points if you • Write ALL answers in the pink booklet. • Write with dark blue or black ink. • Write answers in ESSAY form. • Write COMPLETE sentences.

  5. Invalid Answers = NO points • Don’t use bullet-form answers • Don’t write an outline

  6. The ”Readers” understand your answers BETTER if you • Number each answer the same way it is numbered in the examination. • Label & answer each part separately. • Write clearly & legibly. • If you make an error, you can simply draw 1 line through it.

  7. Helpful hints • Don’t restate the question – wastes time. • Don’t use general terms - Be very specific. • Use science terms - Explain what they mean.

  8. Pay attention to this! • If specific numbers are called for you will receive credit only for the correct ones among these. (i.e. Identify TWO.. means 2) • If a question calls for 2 examples, you will get credit for the first 2 examples you provide—if correct. • The 3rd example, will not even be read.

  12. Q/A Q: Can you skip parts of questions? A:Yes, leave some space, then come back to it later. Q: What do I do if I run out of space? A: Label the end of your answer, give the Reader a page # and direct him/her to the continuation.

  13. More Q/A Q: How are the answers scored? A:You receive points for only correct answers, no one subtracts points. ------ Each part of a question may receive 1 to 4, even 6 points. Some questions have more than 10 pts available, but you can only max out at 10.
