  3. What is Rio+20? The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) – nicknamed Rio+20 - took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012. It was attended by 193 countries. The aim was to create a safer, more equitable, cleaner, greener and more prosperous world.

  4. Sustainable Development Sustainable development (SD) is a pattern of economic development in which resource use aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for generations to come. Sustainable development can be achieved only through Action and Education.

  5. Sustainable Development is a must Ecological footprint in 2050- need more than 2 planets

  6. Rio+20 Corporate Summit Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum was lead by 2700 participants including over 1000 business. Over US$500 billion were committed and 200 decisive commitments made to achieve a sustainable future; to create the Future We Want. “It is clear that as corporate leaders explore innovative ways to align people, planet and profit… The firms most likely to succeed will be those that embrace their role as contributors.” “Private sector can make significant and lasting contributions to the sustainable development agenda – at Rio and beyond. ”

  7. What is Rio+20 India? Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC), Mumbai is spearheading UNCSD Rio+20 India Program. IARC has committed to UNCSD to take the Rio+20 message of Sustainable Development to One Million Indians especially Students and Corporate workforce by February 2013.
