  1. Bellwork • Take out your Bellwork Question Sheet, write down each problem, and then solve it • Be ready for 2-Minute Drill

  2. 2-MINUTE DRILL • Remember, this is your time to write in your planner: • EQ • Standard • AOI • Homework

  3. Bellwork • Answers???? • Be sure to notice that the Bellwork will be apart of your Notebook Check

  4. Homework • Turn in homework up front in the basket with your period # on it • Make sure your name, date, period, and assignment title are on it

  5. ATL Sheets • You’re each getting a page protector and an Approaches to Learning Map (like the one on the board) • This should be kept the entire year • Remember, I’ll ask the for this at the end of every class

  6. Problem Solving Snowball • Take out a piece of paper • Write your own word problem for someone else to answer • Include: • A question • The information needed to answer that question • Extra information that may fool someone

  7. Problem Solving Snowball • Now take your problem and ball it up like a small snowball

  8. Problem Solving Snowball • You have 1-minute to find a snowball

  9. Problem Solving Snowball • Take a couple of minutes and answer the question you picked up • See if the writer was creative in creating a good question

  10. Powers and Exponents • On back on Study Guide Sheet: • Work on “Getting Ready for the Lesson” on the back of sheet • Answer Questions #1,2,3

  15. Powers and Exponents • Helpful hint: • Any number that has an exponent of 0 (zero) has an answer of 1. • Example: 100 = 1

  16. Practice • Mr. Nicks will work a few of the odd problems • You will practice on the even ones

  17. When finished… • Begin working on textbook homework (listed on the board)

  18. Approaches to Learning (ATL) Visit • Notice Poster on Wall • With about 5 minutes left in class, I’ll ask anyone if they can help fill in a ATL bubble showing what they learned and/or experienced during that class • You will each receive a smaller copy to mark on and keep in your notebook
