  2. This story takes place in one of China’s small cities, where our protagonists live.

  3. This is Mr Zhou. He is 28 years old.

  4. This is Mr Li. He is also 28 years old.

  5. This is Mr Zhou’s house.

  6. This is Mr Li’s house.

  7. One day, Mr Li went to collect the electricity bill for Mr Zhou.

  8. Mr Li saw something on the electricity bills, which he was not very happy about…

  9. The bill electricity bills in June…

  10. The electricity bills in July…

  11. The electricity bills in December…

  12. The number on the meter was bad as well…

  13. Something has to be done!!!

  14. Mr Li ran upstairs and knocked at Mr Zhou’s door.

  15. Mr Zhou pointed at the light on his desk and smiled…

  16. It’s the efficient bulb!!!

  17. Months ago…

  18. Mr. Zhou invited Mr. Li to the supermarket to buy efficient bulbs.

  19. Mr Li laughed at Mr Zhou and bought a normal bulb home.

  20. Does efficient bulb really save money?

  21. Mr. Li decided to buy efficient bulb…

  22. Mr Li went directly to the efficient bulb area.

  23. Mr. Li bought an efficient bulb….

  24. Mr. Li and Mr. Zhou’s electricity bill were the same finally.

  25. So Mr Li learned that he could save money through energy efficient bulbs.

  26. But he had to spend more when buying energy efficient bulbs...

  28. You will need to think about… How many hours do you use your lightbulb in the evenings and weekends (off-peak)? And how many hours do you use your lightbulb in the weekday daytimes (peak)?

Cost of normal bulb:1.5RMB(40w) Cost of energy efficient bulb:24RMB(8w) Price per kilowatt (peak): 617RMB Price per kilowatt (off-peak): 307RMB Kilowatts per hour for normal bulb:0.04kw/h Kilowatts per hour for energy efficient bulb:0.008kw/h

This time also remember that a normal bulb will only last for about 1000 hours But an energy efficient bulb will last for about 8000 hours!
