The Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007 • Those joining the sector since September 2007 should obtain appropriate qualifications and gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or Associate Teacher Learning and Skills (ATLS) within 5 years • Those joining the sector since September 2007 who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the compulsory sector, should gain QTLS status within 2 years
What are the stages involved? • Stage 1 – expression of intent Use the members’ area to complete the expression of intent form • Stage 2 – apply After you have expressed your intent, you will be able to access a webfolio in REfLECT • Stage 3 – conferral IfL will review and comment on your application
Declaration of suitability • It is essential that you print off, sign and post the ‘Declaration of suitability’. • This can be found by going to: Home/Careers and CPD/Gaining QTLS or ATLS/Policy Documents and forms
