  2. Vision of CARE AIR CENTRE To monitor all the industrial emissions in Tamilnadu on real time basis to analyse the trend of emissions into the Atmosphere. Apart from the Emission monitoring the Centre is To monitor Ambient Air around the Industrial premises on real time basis is also linked to the Centre

  3. SOP for the CARE AIR Centre, TNPCB, Chennai Emission/Ambient Air quality data received online to the Centre is validated by the software. Alarm Value is set as per National Ambient Air Quality Standards / Emission Standards. Alarm is indicated as hoot and also as blinking signal in the screen. Exceedance of Standards triggers off an Email, SMS to the CEO and nodal officer of the Industry.

  4. SOP of the CARE AIR CENTRE The Industry is also informed through hot line of exceedance. The Member Secretary, TNPCB is informed about Exceedance. The District officer of the Industry concerned is also intimated through telephone about the Exceedance. Archives are maintained by the CARE AIR Centre for data retrieval and further use.

Costing for connecting all 17 category ,233 Industries in Tamilnadu • The cost on Industrial side Estimated is Rs 721.79 Crores(the assumption in arriving at the cost is CEMS-2 and 4 CAAQMS per industry) • The Cost in connecting the Software and Data Acquisition system Estimated is Rs 8.27 Crores • The Total cost on Industrialside Estimated Rs 730.06 Crores

  13. Costing for Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board • Central Station with Server and Software is Rs 9.0 lakhs • 30 District office to be connected is Rs 180 lakhs • Total State Pollution Board cost is Rs 189 Lakhs

  14. Vision for the Future TNPCB hopes to connect other CEPI Areas such as Mettur, Ranipet, Coimbatore and Thoothukudi andall 233, 17 category Industries in the state of Tamilnadu to the Care Air Centre
