  2. Early life • Bill Gates was born on oct. 28 1955 in Seattle WA • His family was well known in the area. • In 1962 his family visited the worlds fair in Seattle. • Went to the all boys lakeside school.

  3. Birth of Microsoft • Bill had to drop out of Harvard to start Microsoft business. • Opens first office in Albuquerque NM. • On Aug. 12 1981 the IBM announced the launch of the personal computer. • In January 1982 apple computer signed a deal with Microsoft to work together.

  4. Gate's fortune • By early 1992 bill gates made a fortune of $7 billion making him the richest man in the united states.

  5. Gates later years • In 1993 Microsoft becomes the largest computer related company in the world. • Marries Melinda French on the Hawaiian islands. • Windows 95 becomes Microsoft's biggest seller launched.

  6. Later years cont. • In 1996 daughter Jennifer Katharine Gates born. • In 1998 the U.S. justice dept. and 20 state attorneys general file a lawsuit against Microsoft for unfair practices. • Son Rory John Gates born in 1999.
