  4. Floor Care Stripping

  5. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 1. Assemble Your Equipment : • Wet Floor Signs • Dust Mop • Putty Knife • Mop Bucket W/Wringer • 2 Mops (1 for Stripper, 1 for Rinse) Note: Mops Should Be Labeled to avoid contamination. • Buffing Machine • Stripping Pads (Black) • Broom & Dust Pan • Wet/Dry Vac • Wiping Cloths • Doodle Bug Scrubber (Edging Tool)

  7. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 2. Remove all items from floor area. Vacuum or clean any walk-off mats and set aside. 3. Dust mop the area. As you are dust mopping the area make notes of any problem areas. Remove any gum or debris that may be stuck to the floor.

  8. Stripping • Stripping Procedures • 4. Mix chemicals in accordance with label directions. Use hot water if available.

  9. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: • Tips on Mixing: • Mix stripper as specified on product label to get maximum product performance. • Pour stripper into water in the bucket to avoid foaming and splashing. • Wear safety gear. (Gloves & Eye Protection.)

  11. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 6. Liberally apply the stripping solution to the floor. Allow solution to stay on floor 7 to 10 minutes before scrubbing. • Tips on Application : • Apply stripper around the perimeter of the area first to give the chemical more dwell time in these areas of build-up. • Apply stripper only to a manageable area.

  12. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 7. Use Doodle Bug (Edging Tool) to strip close to baseboard and in the corners.

  13. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 8. Scrub the floor with the floor machine. If heavy build-up is present you may need to reapply stripper and rescrub .

  14. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 9. Pick up the slurry with the wet vacuum.

  15. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 10. Rinse the floor with clean water and labeled rinse mop. Change mop water regularly.

  16. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 11. After floor has dried, check to insure that all stripper residue has been removed by rubbing your hand over the floor. If there is a residue rinse again.

  17. Stripping • Stripping Procedures: 12. Clean and put away your equipment. 13. The floor must now be sealed or finished before traffic is allowed to enter the area.

  19. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 1. Assemble your equipment : • Wet Floor Signs • Mop Bucket & Wringer • Clean Mop Note: Mops Should Be Labeled to avoid contamination. • Plastic Trash Liner

  21. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 2. Post wet floor signs. There should be more than one sign posted. The signs must indicate which areas are being sealed or waxed.

  22. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 3. Line the mop bucket with trash liner to avoid contamination and make clean up easier. Pour sealer/finish into lined bucket.

  23. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 4. Dip rayon mop-head into the finish and tamp in the wringer. Do not wring out the mophead .

  24. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 5. Outline the area to be finished. It is not necessary to go to the baseboard on each coat. Fill in the outlined area with an overlapping figure-eight mopping pattern.

  25. Sealing/Waxing • Sealing/Finishing Procedures: 6. Allow the coat to dry. Normally this takes 30 - 45 minutes. Rule of Thumb: Do not recoat until finish is dry to the touch-plus 15 minutes.

  33. Daily Care Daily Care Procedures: 5. Mix G.P. Forward according to label directions with cool water. Hot water will soften the finish and may cause discoloration.

  34. Daily Care • Daily Care Procedures: 6. Dip the mophead into the cleaning solution and wring out. Apply in an overlapping figure-eight mopping pattern. Allow to dry. 7. Thoroughly rinse out your mopheads, buckets and wringers and return them to their appropriate place.

  37. Spray Buffing • Spray Buffing Procedures: 1.Assemble your equipment. • Wet Floor Signs • Dust Mops • Labeled Spray Bottles • Buffing Machine • Red Buffing Pads

  39. Spray Buffing • Spray Buffing Procedures: 2. Attach a red buffing pad to your buffer. 3. Apply Snapback spray buff in a fine mist with labeled spray bottle.

  40. Spray Buffing • Spray Buffing Procedures: 4. Make several passes over the spray buff. Turn your pad over or switch to a clean pad as the pad begins to collect particles and dried spray buff solution. 5. Clean equipment and return it to its appropriate place.

  42. Floor Care Top Scrubbing This procedure can be used when floor no longer responds to spray buffing.

Assemble Your Equipment : • Wet Floor Signs • Dust Mop • Putty Knife • 2 Mop Buckets W/Wringers • 2 Mops (1 for Cleaning Solution, 1 for Rinse) Note: Mops Should Be Labeled to avoid contamination. • Buffing Machine • Scrubbing Pads (Red) • Broom & Dust Pan • Wet/Dry Vac • Wiping Cloths

Allow solution to stay on floor 7 to 10 minutes before scrubbing. • Tips on Application : • Apply cleaning solution to problem areas first to give more dwell time in these areas of build-up. • Apply cleaning solution only to a manageable area.

  49. Top Scrubbing • Top Scrubbing: 7. Scrub the floor with the floor machine with a red buffing pad. If heavy build-up is present you may need to reapply cleaning solution and rescrub .
