  1. FCAT DATA Tracking Score a touchdown

  2. You should have: • A Green fcat touch down sheet • A little slip of paper with your name on it

  3. What do those numbers mean? The first number is your current grade. The second number is your FCAT Reading LEVEL from last year. The third number is your FCAT Reading SCORE from last year. The fourth number is your FCAT Math LEVEL from last year. The fifth number is your FCAT Math SCORE from last year.

  4. To help you remember what each number is, please write down the highlighted words really small! The first number is your current grade. The second number is your FCAT Reading LEVEL from last year. The third number is your FCAT Reading SCORE from last year. The fourth number is your FCAT Math LEVEL from last year. The fifth number is your FCAT Math SCORE from last year. R Level R Score M Score Grade M Level

  5. What do I do If I don’t Have Scores? • If this is your first year at our school, you might not have FCAT scores. Just sit tight. You’ll be able to still write down what score you want to get on FCAT this year. Come up with a Game Plan and write a starting lineup!

  6. Now look at your green sheetReading Section On this line you record your three digit reading (R) score. On this line you record your on digit reading level.

  7. Now look at your green sheetMath Section On this line you record your three digit MATH (M) score. On this line you record your on digit MATH level.

  8. Now we get to do some Math!!!!Math Section This table shows the scale score you need to be in a certain level on the Math FCAT. Look at the grade you were in last year when you took the FCAT. Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 How close were you to being in the next FCAT level in Math? If you already scored a 5 you scored a touchdown last year. But, how close were you to slipping back to be a level 4?

  9. Now we get to do some Math!!!!Reading SEction This table shows the scale score you need to be in a certain level on the Reading FCAT. Look at the grade you were in last year when you took the FCAT. Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 How close were you to being in the next FCAT level in Reading? If you already scored a 5 you scored a touchdown last year. But, how close were you to slipping back to be a level 4?

  10. Now Draw a line on your football field showing how close you were to getting a touchdown (being at the next FCAT Level)

  11. Next, Write down what level you’d like to score on this year’s FCAT

  12. Now Think about what could help you get a great FCAT score!

  13. Write down people who you need on your team!

  14. Put the green page in the data section of your Leadership Binder! • Let’s Review what should be in your binder!

  16. Label your binder! Name FIRST and LAST 8th period teacher Grade level During student-led conferences all of the binders will be brought down to the gym. It is very important that binders are labled properly so you and your parents can find your binder and so that we can return your binder to your 8th period class!

  17. All documents are available on the shared drive in a folder called The Game Plan.

  18. Cover SheetCompleted Tuesday 8/20 If students have a binder with a sleeve on the cover they may put their coversheet there or they can hole-punch their coversheet and put it in the very front of their binder before the tabs. The cover sheet should have their name, “Leadership Notebook”, “The Game Plan” and any decorations they want.

  23. SECTION 5: Celebrating Success • Students can place anything in this section that they are proud of including awards or successes from outside of school. • If they are awarded the yellow binder champion award it would go in this section too.

  24. Teachers, Additional copies of past worksheets are available in each mailroom. If you run out, let Ms. Hendry know and she’ll order more copies!
