R15 Water Cycle • Evaporation • Condensation • Precipitation • Liquid → Gas Liquid water changes into water vapor, which is gas. • Gas → Liquid Water vapor cools and changes from a gas to a liquid. Clouds form by this process. • Occurs when rain, snow, sleet, or hail falls from the clouds onto Earth’s surface.

Water Cycle (cont.) • Infiltration • Runoff • The process by which water on the ground surface enters the soil. • Water, usually from precipitation, that flows across land and collects in rivers, streams, and eventually the ocean.
Water Cycle (cont.) • Transpiration (Perspiration →Plant Sweat) • Ground Water • "Process by which water that is absorbed by plants, usually through roots, is evaporated into the atmosphere from the plant surface, such as leaf pores." - U.S. Geological Survey, 2011 (a) • Water that comes from the ground. It comes from precipitation that soaks into the ground.
