Saultz, MD Oregon Health & Science University Department of Family Medicine , Background: Preparing the Personal Physician for Practice (P4 ) is a 5-year national demonstration project to inspire and evaluate innovations in residency training to ensure that family physicians are equipped to provide superior Patient-Centered Care in the changing healthcare system. Differences Among Groups at Baseline RESEARCH IN PROGRESS Instrument: 6-item Likert sub-scale measuring attitudes towards a team approach to patient care Objective: Explore residents’ baseline attitudes towards a team approach to patient care. Research question: Does exposure to a team approach to patient care in residency influence resident attitudes? + Kruskal-Wallis Test (nonparametric) ++ Mann-Whitney Test (nonparametric) Team Approach Attitude Scale Results • Next Steps: • - Historical cohort analyses to measure change in attitudes over time • Correlate resident exposure to team-based care and attitudes • - Graduate survey data will assess practice characteristics, including implementation of team-based care * Residents excluded from scale if missing or answered Don’t Know or Neutral/No opinion on any scale items.
